About

I'm a software engineer specializing in SIEM data engineering — getting data into security and observability platforms reliably and at scale: Splunk data onboarding, OpenTelemetry, SC4S, universal and heavy forwarders, Edge Processor, and telemetry pipelines.

I currently work as a Software Engineering Technical Leader at Splunk, where I lead development of an agentic data onboarding platform (Guided Onboarding). In 2023–2025 I was part of the SC4S development team and contributed to the Splunk OpenTelemetry Collector for Kubernetes. Before that I spent several years building NLP, speech recognition, and machine-learning systems in Python. I've also taught Python — I like explaining complicated things in plain language, which is most of what this blog is.
